The inquisition strikes with brutality at the heart of Carcassonne. Outraged by its unjust condemnations, the people turns to their overlord for protection. While awaiting his arrival, visitors join Simon, a young lord from the North, in guarding the city.

Fully immersed, explore the bustling medieval city and take part in defending its ramparts. As you master the art of combat, share the doubts and hopes of the people, uncovering a reality far more complex than it seems. Alongside Simon, will you stand for justice? 

This immersive expedition, unprecedented in the depth of its storytelling, offers a captivating dive into history. 

People's anger will lead to the arrival of King Philip IV of France in the winter of 1304.

A Historic Episode Between Turmoil and Tension

As witnesses to technical innovations and a more active defense than ever before, the fortifications of Carcassonne are completed at the outset of our story. To preserve the unity of the Kingdom of France, the inquisition investigates and prosecutes local Cathar heretics.

Throughout your adventure, you will encounter prominent figures of the royal administration, such as Seneschal Guy Chevrier and Constable Geoffroy de Varenne, as well as other historical figures like inquisitor Geoffroy d’Ablis and the dissenter Elie Patrice.

Several other characters, villagers, soldiers, and clergy of Carcassonne, bring to life the city's vibrant atmosphere as it awaits the King’s arrival.
